Iron men and women from all over the world have been competing in the Boa Vista Ultramarathon, 150 km of fully independent running, for over 20 years now. It’s not for everyone, but there are also shorter routes you can tackle, or you might just like to train accompanied and in safety.
Easy trekking route through the Viana Desert to Bofareira and back. For those who don’t want to push themselves too hard, the return journey can be made comfortably by taxi, but first, a stop for some freshly baked bread is a must!
55 kilometres of beaches around the island offer plenty of long walks. For example, from Praia Estoril, Praia de Chaves is within easy reach.
Everyone will find a walk that suits them (independently, but always in safety), or a route accompanied by experts who will help you explore the most remote corners of the island, often inaccessible by any other means.
